Microphotography Workshop at Maritime Gloucester

This ghost crab larvae is sitting on the index finger of a 4 year old boy!

Maritime Gloucester invites kids to a vacation week workshop on microphotography - part of a week full of educational sessions during February vacation! What does a penny look like under a microscope?  What about grains of sand?  Take a closer look with microphotography!  Using our digital microscope lab, children will get to view and photograph various natural and manmade objects using video microscopes.

We will look at the intricacies of dry specimens, such as fish and shells, and get an up-close view of the unexpected details of everyday objects.  Throughout the workshop, the children will capture photos with the microscope and receive a CD of their images.  We will provide lots of objects, but children are encouraged to bring their own small, flat objects to view and photograph.

  • For kids in 2nd – 5th Grade
  • Drop-off program
